My heart is broken, may all the dead rest in peace.

May God reward them all with the best in the hereafter and the families and those affected patience to survive this struggle.

...and it's already out of the news cycle. No new laws. No confiscations. No social deletions or penalty of law for reporting or showing. No societal backlash of the huge death toll. We can now get back to the billions being donated by the world's elite to roof Notre Dame.
::)

It's more important to stroke those egos than worry about a couple hundred christians being killed and injured by terrorists, in an organised mass and multiple target, planned attack.

I was surprised at the attacks, it certainly did not seem the MO of the Tamil Tigers.

I follow lots thank you very much. The dig pointing toward my sources is unwarranted as is your implication. I don't have to defend them given your choice of real and hard hitting journalism from Yahoo, CBC, CNBC and MSN.

Your idea of being finished as a news item differs dramatically from mine. I'm not being bombarded by Sri Lanka news like I was with New Zealand. Even social media has quieted down a lot.

Simply, clean up articles in my mind. Filler. Crossing the t's and dotting i's. Putting it all in order so it can be forgotten.

I'm attacking nobody but the press and implicating nobody but breast beating social justice warriors.

It's only my opinion. Don't lose any sleep over it. I'm certainly not going to.

Start of possibly important CNN story:

ISIS suspect gave advance warning of Sri Lanka bombings, source says

Colombo, Sri Lanka (CNN)Early warnings from India's intelligence services to Sri Lankan officials ahead of the Easter Sunday bombings were based on information gleaned from an ISIS suspect, CNN has learned.
Delhi passed on unusually specific intelligence in the weeks and days leading up to the attacks, Sri Lankan officials have said, and at least some of it was gleaned from material obtained during interrogations of an ISIS suspect arrested in India, an Indian official told CNN.
The revelation comes as ISIS claimed responsibility for the bombings, which killed 321 people and injured more than 500. In a statement published by the ISIS-affiliated news agency Amaq, the group said the attackers were "fighters of the Islamic State."

The involvement of a foreign organization would explain how a previously marginal domestic extremist group blamed for the attacks, National Tawheed Jamath (NTJ), could have pulled off one of the worst terrorist atrocities since 9/11.

The number of casualties could have been even higher. Authorities said Tuesday that a fourth hotel was among the original targets, but the attack at that location failed. Officials previously said they found an unexploded
pipe bomb near Colombo's international airport.

Missed warnings

As investigators scrambled to track down the bombers' associates, there was growing anger in Sri Lanka at the failure to heed the warnings of India's intelligence service.

The first warning came more than two weeks before the attacks. Sri Lankan officials were told on April 4 of a potential plot to launch suicide attacks against Christian churches and tourist spots, government spokesman Rajitha Senaratne told reporters on Monday. The warnings were repeated two days and two hours before the attacks, Senaratne said.

Dehli's information came from the interrogation of an ISIS suspect, the Indian source told CNN. After being interrogated, the suspect gave investigators the name of a man he trained in Sri Lanka, who is associated with the local extremist group, the NTJ, the source said.

"While we were investigating ISIS cases, during the interrogation of an accused, he disclosed the name of a man, Zahran Hashim, who is one of the suicide bombers and is associated with NTJ," said the intelligence source in India. "The suspect said that he played a role in his (Hashim's) radicalization."..

Death toll rises to 310 in Easter Sunday terror attacks in Sri Lanka

The death toll from the April 21 Easter Sunday terror attacks increased to 310 by April 23 (today) morning with 500 people have been injured, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said, reports Daily Mirror. At least 307 civilians and three Security Forces (SFs) were among the dead. Additionally, seven suicide bombers were also killed in the series of coordinated attacks on April 21. Earlier, SATP had reported that at least 207 persons were killed and over 450 persons were injured in a series of coordinated bomb blasts at churches and luxury hotels in the country on April 21.

Sri Lankan Police said that 24 suspects were arrested so far in connection with the series of explosions that rocked the country on April 21, reports Colombo Page. The suspects are being detained in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and interrogated.

Meanwhile, a Sri Lankan court on April 22 remanded nine of the 24 suspects arrested over the Easter Day attacks until May 6, reports Colombo Page. Colombo Additional Magistrate Channa Saliya Abeyratne remanded the suspects were produced before the Colombo Magistrate's Court. Wellampitiya Police, presenting its report in the investigations, told the court that a factory belonging to the suicide bomber who attacked the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo and the two women who died in the suicide bomb explosion at a Dematagoda house was found in Wellampitiya area. The Police further said that the suspects have been employed at bomber's factory and that investigations are proceeding to uncover if the suspects are acquainted with the suicide bombers. The two women who died in the explosion at Dematagoda are revealed to be the wife and the sister of the suicide bomber at the Shangri-La hotel, the Police further told the court. The suspects reportedly include seven Muslims, one Sinhalese and one Tamil.

Separately, a stock of explosives was unearthed in a homestead of a resident at Erukkalampitti in Ouluthuduwai in Mannar District of Northern Province by the Police on April 22, reports The Island. The landowner, while cleaning his garden, noticed the stock of explosives and informed the Police. The explosives had been hidden in a plastic barrel buried in the garden, Police said.

Also, one of the suspects of Easter Sunday attacks in Colombo had written a letter to his mother asking for her forgiveness before killing himself inside a house in Mahawila Gardens Dematagoda on April 21, a senior official of the Colombo Crimes Division said, reports The Island. "We found the letter when we searched the house. He had written that he had carried out the attack in the name of his religion."

Intelligence authorities warned of Easter Sunday attacks, says Sri Lankan Government

The Sri Lankan Government on April 22 admitted that foreign intelligence authorities warned of imminent terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday (April 21), reports Daily Mirror. Heath Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said that foreign intelligence authorities alerted the local defence agencies even ten minutes before attacks. “These intelligence authorities have informed, from time to time, starting from April 4, 48 hours before the attacks and finally ten minutes before tragedy struck. They gave warnings about a possible attack on April 4 for the first time. Thereafter, National Intelligence Chief Sisira Mendis, on behalf of the Defence Secretary, had informed the Inspector General Police (IGP) about the imminent attacks. He had actually informed that an organisation called ‘Thowheed Jamath’ planned suicide attacks and had even mentioned their names.

“He had informed that Thowheed Jamath leaders Zaran Hashmi, Jalhal Hital, Sajit Moulawi and Silhan had arrived in Sri Lanka to carry out the coordinated attacks. Then, DIG Priyalal Dassanayake had informed the ministerial security division (MSD), judicial security division, security divisions in charge of former presidents and the Diplomatic Security Unit. However, he had failed to warn the Prime Ministerial Security Division (PMSD) and the Presidential Security Division (PSD) on the attacks. Although the Security Council meetings had been convened after last December, council member and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was never invited,” The Minister said.

Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India had specific intelligence on Easter Sunday serial blasts in Sri Lanka, reports The Hindu on April 22. While examining an Islamic State (IS) sympathiser in Tamil Nadu in India six months ago, investigators got to know of the terror plot and alerted the authorities concerned to pass on the information to Sri Lanka. A senior Police officer in India said there was clear information on the plan to trigger blasts which was communicated to Sri Lanka through diplomatic channels. The officer also said that the Intelligence Bureau had sounded an alert on the likelihood of the terror suspects escaping to India through the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

A number of the bombers (including a mother/daughter team) were quite wealthy and apparently recruited/groomed by IS through links with domestic National Thowheeth Jama'ath. https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/Sri-Lanka-s-radicalized-Muslims-have-long-ties-to-Islamic-State?fbclid=IwAR0YNmLSpp4-p_rYb7ApbQzMiBzhqVEBqRn3VaiVZyHM-em8xe3H0VWsMK0
