.... Hi there!  Wondering if anyone out there could answer a few questions? .... I first off had applied DEO in Combat... but my eyes didn't qualify V4 ... and didn't qualify for surgery.. figures....  So I applied as a DEO in LOG (which was off interests as well) ...I started my application in Sept. (because of applying as a DEO I had to be in my last semester in University) .... graduated from University in Dec. Started my testing in Jan. (in Feb changed to LOG) and last week had my interview and got recommended! I believe now I wait (I keep on reading a merit list? confused about that ???)  .... I was told after my interview that there is now a 6 weeks rotation on recruitting .... re: the numbers that they get in Kingston for hiring.... and that it isn't just twice a year anymore??? Any comments on this???

As well... I talked to a Capt. in Log. and a Ret. Officer .... which his daughter is an NCO in Log. .... while I was told this area is very competitive ... at the same time everyone is telling me that the CF is hiring and that it won't be a problem, and I won't be waitting for 2 yrs on a list (as that happend 10yrs ago with the Navy.... I gather as well there wasn't as many females getting recruited back then ... as much as today with the quotas). So now I believe I am back on the famous list again.... hahaha....

Anyhow... any comments good or bad... would be appreciated .... Cheers, Nik...

This is the second incoherent post on the same subject, in two different forums, on the same site, that you have made.  Please; if you think you are officer material, think of what you are going to ask first, write it down, proof read it and then publish it on the forum.  It is so much easier for us to answer.

Now!  I know there is a lot of information on DEO applications on this site, so obviously you did not SEARCH.  Please do.

George you beat me to it but I am going to respond anyway:

Well writing in a coherent manner and doing a search would be a starting point.

Once you have completed the eligibility requirements: background, medical, physical; and the suitability requirement: interview and recommended.  You are merit listed and your file is sent to Borden for consdieration.  Being merit listed just means that your electronic file has annotated that you are ready for selection.

re: the numbers that they get in Kingston for hiring

Whatever that means.

As for selection boards read the following:

It has been decided by CFRG HQ that the requirement to hold DEO selection boards on fixed dates for "non-specialist occupations" those occupations that do not require specialist boards (NOAB, MPAC, etc) are no longer necessary.  Therefore starting 15 Apr 06 will be the date that CFRG will do its first round of selection for "non-specialist occupations" (everything but MARS, MPO and Legal) and approximately every six weeks after that there will another selection cycle until the IAP/BOTPs in Sep/Jan are filled.  The way it will work is that when the file is ready (everything is completed: CFAT, Interview, ERC, PT, Med, etc) for a non-specialist officer occupation it will be merit listed and it will be immediately sent to CFRG HQ for consdieration.
