CJTF2

Ya cause that would be funny right?

The assaulter has a stoppage and gets shot in the face, maybe one or two more of his buddies get hit before someone can take out the terrorist, or possibly he was a suicide bomber and now they‘re all dead, civilians, terrorists, and Canadian military personnel.

When your trying out for JTF2 and you‘re on the phycological testing portion, I‘d avoid sharing your sense of humor with them if I were you.

There will be no stoppages where JTF2 is concerned. Test, test, test and test some more.
On an actual op the chances of a ‘click‘ being heard are 1 in a billion. I researched this number very thoroughly for all you information freaks, I guessed. Should this ever happen I would expect the target to go down only a fraction of a second later. Even if you are a badass with an AK there is a certain pants fillin‘ effect of a room/aircraft/vehicle entry by an organized force. Have you ever noticed that when you think about stoppages you get one? Confidence in your preparation results in a 100% firing percentage. I wish that worked for long legged blon...oops,different topic.

Also when applying don‘t tell them that you think you look good in black high speed kit. Kevlar and nomex is not used for trolling for poontang. Just a tip.

GrahamD I think you missed the point completely.

The media really has top let these units alone so they can get on with the job of protecting us!Driving over to Dwyer Hill just to see if they can follow the members around is far more dangerous than you realize. Any information that these clowns( the media) publish can and generaly is used by terrorists to keep track of the members. They can also begin to identify unit members so that when JTF2 deploys somewhere and the members are undercover they stand a chance of being identified by hostile forces!
They can also strike at the members families with this method, pehaps causing incredible damage to the members.
So if I were you I‘d knock off the snotty remarks and stop encouraging people to talk about this stuff!

You‘re so right of course, now that I posted something about Dwyer Hill on the army.ca forums, there is probably going to be terrorists lined up at the gates snapping photographs, and then later breaking into DND offices to try and track down and match personnel files based on those pictures. Then the cat wil really be out of the bag.

Maybe you should apply for security at Dwyer Hill, and then you can make sure that classified activity isn‘t being monitered from outside the perimeter by those spies... oh I mean reporters.

Or do you think that maybe the DND already has measures in place? Do you think that maybe the fence has been built right where its supposed to be, and that they have people watching the people who think that they themselves are the ones who are watching?

Its funny that you are here posting in the same thread that I am and giving me crap about encouraging people to talk about it. JTF2 is in the news guy, WAKE UP, everyone knows about them, anything I have to say about JTF2 has either been in the news, or is hearsay. Talking about the existance, capabilities, or members of JTF2 is all conjecture unless you have the kind of clearance required to actually know something about them. In which case, talking about it constitutes treason and you‘ll be punished accordingly.

You can stick your conspiracy theories (you know where), this is reality buddy, when is the last time you saw a picture of a JTF2 team member in the news that was good enough that you could pick him out of a line up? Or even if every guy in the line up was of different ethnic backround, and ranged from 5‘5" to 6‘5"?
The fact is you haven‘t seen one, and not for lack of trying on the medias part. For all you know dodging media is an itegral part of JTF2 training.

Let the DND, and JTF2 worry about security for JTF2. And don‘t say things like this: "Any information that these clowns( the media) publish can and generaly is used by terrorists to keep track of the members. "
because you really don‘t know how terrorists operate.

Official Recruiting info re JTF2:

Looking for a challenge? Joint Task Force Two now recruiting

Are you highly motivated, physically fit, team orientated and looking for a challenge? The Canadian Forces counter-terrorist unit, Joint Task Force Two (JTF2), is looking for service members with these qualities to join their team.

Once again this year JTF 2 recruiters will be visiting bases across the country as part of their annual recruiting campaign.

JTF 2 is the Canadian Forces unit responsible for federal counter-terrorist and hostage rescue operations, and any other task in response to a potential national security threat. The unit’s role demands continuous, intensive training, a high level of operational readiness and the ability to deploy anywhere in the world on short notice to accomplish missions and tasks.

JTF 2 offers a wide variety of employment opportunities for military personnel. The unit is made of two categories; A and B. Category A, special operations assaulters, are directly employable in the tactical aspects of a unit mission. Category B is comprised of Special Operations Coxswains, specialists and support personnel who provide combat support to operations and perform support service functions. Following the Government’s decision in 2001 to expand the capability of JTF 2, there is a demand to recruit new personnel for each category.

As a member of JTF 2 you will be part of a world-class Special Operations Force. Training is realistic and demanding. Members of JTF 2 learn and hone their skills relative to specialized tactics, weapons, explosives and equipment. Missions and tasks are relevant to the current geo-political situation.

JTF 2 needs mature, responsible, dedicated, physically and mentally fit professional people of high integrity who are ready to push themselves to the limit.

Members from the Regular Force with two years of service and members of the Reserve Force with three years of service and are fully MOC-qualified can apply through their chain of command by submitting a memo and completing an application form for JTF 2 service. Applicants for JTF 2 must successfully complete the physical fitness test for their category of employment at the unit.

The application, submitted through the chain of command during phase one of the selection process, is designed to highlight any obvious professional or personal shortcomings that an individual has shown that would indicate they are unsuitable for service with JTF 2. All other selection attributes are measured during phases two and three. Every member of the CF has a right to apply for service with JTF 2 provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria.

Applicants for category A positions are screened, interviewed and tested for cognitive ability at their base personnel selection office. Suitable candidates for this category are invited to attend a seven-day selection process (10 for officers) at the unit. A pre-selection training program is available at any base PSP office. Applicants are strongly encouraged to prepare for the process using this package.

Special Operation Coxswains applicants are also invited to undergo a selection process. Specialists and support personnel applicants who apply are selected based on their trade skills, job performance, qualification and personal profile and on their CO and career manager recommendations. Suitable candidates are invited to the unit for an employment interview as well as a psychological evaluation.

A CANFORGEN will be promulgated early in 2003 with more information on this year’s annual JTF 2 recruiting campaign.
