So sad
On the Westcoast I am only aware of two dying in service, one guy crushed by a barge that broke free on the well deck of a buoy tender and Tom Shelby who was washed overboard from the Bull Harbour Lifeboat.

A Bosun was lost up in the Mackenzie River, was checking the tightness of lines holding the RHIB during the evening, seem it broke, he lost his footing went overboard and no one realized he was missing for at least 1/2 hour.

I don't think the CCG has lost a member on the East Coast since the Middle Cove tragedy?

Condolences to family, friends and fellow crew of the lost sailor.

(Would have been nicer I would think to have been referred to as a sailor, not an employee…)

Sad news to hear. Thoughts are with his family, crew and all members involved in the search.
Some how these searches are harder when it's one of your family your searching for.
