Canadian Fallout from US State of Union?

Bush promised the troops the "best weapons, equipment, and training" and a pay raise as part of the largest defence budget increase in the past 20 years. Here‘s hoping we see at least a little fallout. Maybe the replacement of some rust-out, an increase in manning, some pay increases, medical coverage for families, pension plan and job protection for res, etc.

Of course, Bush isn‘t Santa -- he doesn‘t deliver north of the border. Maybe Petit Jean can be a good elf and help.

Da Liddle Guy? From Shawinigan? Funding an increase in military expenditure? To the point where the Forces are capable of deploying on less than three months notice?
