I've been noticing lately that a number of troops have been wearing a garnent either outside or underneth their shirts that resembles the same material as the hood of the issued gortex jacket. Can anyone tell me if this is a gortex shell, and if so where can I buy or fabricate one. They look like it would be a good piece of kit when its too warm to use the rain jacket.I only ask this question because I've spent almost all my time out east(gagetown)and have'nt seen it till I've come out west(Wainwright)
Thanks

I think you are talking about the famed stealth suit...they are pretty good if you have the cash. It will run you a couple hundred bones to pick up a set.

You're probably talking about a Stealth Suit. They're made by Peerless Garments in Winnipeg http://www.peerless.mb.ca/about.htm. Although Stealth Suits are not advertised on the website, they will ship the product to you if you order a few sets. The company phone number is on the website. Alternatively, Any Reg Infantry Unit's Kitshop might sell them. I know that 1RCR does.

Either way, if you're willing to invest the money ($250) its a great piece of kit.

I've heard of people buying them in Edmonton, anyone know where? I'm planning to go up there in a couple weeks.

You can get it from the PPLCI http://kitshop.ppcli.com/ and download the PDF Catalogue for the Kit Shop, the stealth suits are on page 2
