Battle of the Somme, Soldier Information

My father who is 93 years old is looking for information regarding his uncle who was in the 58th battalion in WWI in what we think was the Battle of Somme. The Battle of the Somme or The Somme

His name was Pte. Henry Boucher (453180) was listed as killed in action on October 8, 1916 and we are wondering where he was fighting at the time. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if you have seen this or not, his service record is online: http://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?op=pdf&app=CEF&id=B0911-S090 and it confirms that he was tragically killed in action on 8 Oct 1916 in France so that would almost certainly indicate the battle of the Somme.

(viii) Battle of le Transloy Ridge. 1-18 October
                    Included tactical incident: Capture of Eaucourt l’Abbaye.

(ix) Battle of The Ancre Heights. 1 October - 11 November
                    Included tactical incident: Capture of Regina Trench.
