here is my quick question. I am trying out for ceotp pilot. Lets say everything actually works and I pass the acs and go for basic in the fall. I will have to do a second language course also in St. Jean. Which can take up to 40 weeks so i've been told, and believe you me, i'll need every second of it, lol. Will they move my wife and daughter up for that period. One recruiting officer here tells me that its almost impossible. I would like to hear from people with experience in regards to this.
Thanks in advance.
Rob.

Should I 'assume' that you looked in the Air Force forums for some indication on what the answers may be from the Pilot side of the house?  Should I also 'assume' that you have looked into Recruiting Treads, all 100 plus pages of them, or just used the SEARCH function?  I know we have answered the question on moving your wife and kids to St Jean for your training several times in the past.  I am wondering where I should send this post, as you have used a shotgun approach in questioning.

To summarize. Welcome to Army.ca, start reading.

I have searched the boards for moving family members for the french language course, zip. I have been able to find zero postings on moving my family up for my SECOND LANGUAGE course, NOT basic training. And I thought that I would ask for anyone who HAS done the second language course and had faimily members, If they were able to move them up. This is why I specified the post for pilots on here. I appreciate your response and have been grazing the boards for the last few days, learning as much as possible, but this I could not find.
Thanks.
Rob.

I found this after typing SLT into the search function:
http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/36163.0.html

It's on your dime if you want to move your family to St-Jean.  There are no PMQ's close by to rent, the rental market does allow for partially furnished apartments.

Keep in mind that if you move your F&E to St-Jean, your initial move of F&E will still be from place of enrollment.  Do not screw yourself financially by doing anything you might regret.

My advice - leave the domestic units where they are, suck it up in Quebec and then go back home when not in training.  If not, you will have them following you around everywhere across the prairies and their lives will be forever changed and disrupted.  The first time that you should think about possibly moving them to where you are is when you get to Moose Jaw.  You can expect to be there in excess of 1.5 years, thereby making this move worthwhile.

Any more questions feel free to PM me...

cool, thank you very much for the replies, maybe I will just leave them here since there are no pmq's nearby. But as far as disrupting their lives, my wife will be on unemployment so she will be at home and my daughter is only 2, so I guess I'll have to see how it goes and get her input too. I know she wants off of this island. lol.
