Hello--

I am a female looking to join the Reserve forces as an infanteer. I was hoping to gain the perspective of a fellow female on what life is like as an infantry member. I am in the Hamilton area and looking to join the Argyll's, but any information/advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello, welcome....
FYI, that subject has been discussed at considerable length and you should do a little reading.

Feel free to use the search engine. Lots about women in the combat arms ( Armoured, Artillery, Engineers AND infantry).

Cheers!

You're fairly new here - and I had some time on my hands.  So, try these links:

There are MANY others, but that should get you started.

The Argylls are a great unit.

We have a fair number of females in the Regiment, as well as going through their BMQ and SQ courses right now. If you come down to the armories on a Wed night (around 7pm), MCpl Gorrie can set you up with some face time with a one or more of them. The standard is you come down, he'll answer any questions you might have, give some info on the career paths and application process, and take you on a tour of the armories to show you our training in action. You can just drop in, but if in doubt, call him at 905.541.ARMY and he will help you out.

Another option, depending on your age, is that we have a whole bunch of recruiting days at the local high schools coming up. www.argylls.ca has until the end of the month currently posted, but that will be updated shortly to include Apr and May.

Again, if you have any questions about the Argylls, please feel free to call MCpl Gorrie, or ask away on here.
