Hey,
I'm just headed across the states right now and hitting up all the surplus stores along the way and I'm just asking how much I should be expecting to pay.
I'm looking for a full marpat uniform and maybe some molle gear (which I saw today at a flea market in San Jose for $60 and was vert temped to buy)
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not that I have any first-hand experience with the many US surpluses (sp?) but I would imagine that you should expect to pay about the same as in Canada, maybe a little less. If something seems like a good deal, I say go for it.

Good luck, hope you find some cool stuff.

Cheers,
Pinky

Well I'm going from Winnipeg   to San Fransisco, along the way I'm hitting up anything that slightly resembeles a surplus store. By day 2 I had crossed into bonners ferry Washington and found a little shop that said "Army Surplus" over the door. As soon as I walked in I knew.... this was no ordanary surplus store, I had found the surplus store that the "Back Woods Revolutionarys" shop at. Somewhere between the Automatic weapons and the Anarchist cookbooks I found what I was loooking for MARPAT fulll combat uniform complete with the NSN tags unissued, this was the "Real Steel Deal". It wqas listed at the rock bottom price of $20 for the pants and $15 for the top. I figured "Hey, I can  do better" so I walked away and I haven't found any since, but not all hope is lost I'm heading back through the type of country where I just might find another one of those shops.

The odd time I've seen the genuine stuff listed on eBay, it tends to go for $40 + USD.  Much of it hovers around $60 -$70.

I lucked out a few years ago and got an unissued hat for around $15.
