I just received my father's milliary papers from WW2.  Was hoping someone would help me with the meaning of the following:

C.I.T.C.---- Canadian Infantry Training Corp?
3 C.I.T.R ?
11 C.B.R.B  ?
emb. leave?
D.E.O?

C.T.B.A. fap to 10 cdn. repat depot (trans str.)  ??
???

Thanks so much!

Emb. Leave would sound like Embarkation Leave, taken before getting on the troop ship.

If DEO hasn't changed, that's Direct Entry Officer.

CITC – Canadian Infantry Training Centre
DEO - Direct Entry Officer
CTBA - Ceases to be Attached
FAP - For all Purposes
cdn. repat depot - Canadian Repatriation Depot
trans str - Transferred off of strength (total guess)
CITR - Canadian Infantry Training Regiment
emb. leave = embarkation leave (unverified)
CBRB = Carver Biomedical Research Building (really unverified)

Thank you so much all.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

Still confussed on the 11 CBRB.    Any other suggestions?

Mystaround,

11 CBRB stands for the 11th Canadian Base Reinforcement Battalion.  CBRBs were the reinforcement holding units in the active theatres.  In the case of the 11th it was in NW Europe and followed the First Canadian Army until VE Day.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Dan.
