PT Testing Information For All New CF Members Headed to BMQ or IAP/BOTP

Got my reserve application, and the only thing im worried about with the whole BMQ experience is the fitness. I've been in Army Cadets for 6 years and have had an extremely sucessful career thus far. Aside from working out like crazy for pushups, running, and the hand grip, I really dont think...

Anybody do the NSCE exam this year? and how was it?

I actually have to disagree with you there. NSCE is not easy. In almost every province the pass rate is (only!) roughly 50%. This doesn't say to me that the exam is easy. Weather one can keep a clear head while in both phases of the exam, and train physicaly for it, determines the "easiness of...

what do you hope to gain from cadets?

I owe the Cadet program so much. Its given me transferable skills that will stay with me forever. It's also given me unforgettable experiences that could NOT be gained through any other organization but the Canadian Cadet movement. The added bonus is that it looks really good on scholarship...

    Pace Sticks and Drill Canes

This also simply depends on what the corps has available to them. Some corps only have drill canes because they're cheaper, and others only pace sticks. It's also at the CO's discretion.

Anybody do the NSCE exam this year? and how was it?

NSCE 2007 was really easy I thought. But perhaps all the hardcore studying I did for it helped (yes, I studied for NSCE). The multiple choice was really easy, and as for the phase II, you either knew it when you went there or you didn't. Topped in Manitoba province for NSCE 2007 (and I'm from N...

    Help for a new RSM

Lead by example. Everything you do in: dress, drill and deportment, your cadets will mimic, even unconsciously. If you have a high dress standard, you cadets will too. If you behave yourself, and refrain from fraternizing, then, theoretically, you cadets will too. Knowing that you're being...

    Drill and Ceremonial

I'm already used to not having days off. As 1 of 2 female Sgts in Delta in 2006, and Echo coy seemingly NEVER putting their staff on barracks duty when they were supposed to(we shared a barrack block), I ended taking so many extra shifts that my plt Comdr pulled me into the office one day about...

    Vernon

I would love to. It sounded so cool just to be nominated for CSM next year, but then Australia sounded so much cooler, so thats where I'm going for 2007. I should have time to staff after the exchange though, but definately not as a CSM. Next summer though, Sergeant Major Busch will rule Guard...

2 new Army Cadet Exchanges (ACE) 2007

I got top in province for NSCE this year and I selected the ACE exchange. Any recommendations on where to go? good or bad? I'm leaning towards Austria because of the history and the architecture. And Holland, Sweden, and Denmark all look like home. I don't want to go overseas to go home. Cayman...

this is something I wrote for a quick history exercise to sum up what total war encompasses. The War at Home The waiting in line, To get our food, No cookies or goodies for me. My Mother always said "Waste not want not" So no extra rations were sought. My Daddy's away, I hear Mommy say, All...

    Does Canada need a Military?

I acknowledge that there is a shift occuring in our military history right now. We are becoming more agressive when it comes to "maintianing peace" but this shift is necessary. I was simply stating that in the past, those have been our motives.

    Essay research

Consider this though: The public opinion could be considered completely invalid because it is not authentic. Everything that the public is acknowledged about it is filtered by the Canadian information act. The government forces the people to only see what they want them to. These filters are...

    Does Canada need a Military?

In my opinion, not only does Canada need a military as a symolism of  protection of our Canadian heritage, but in history, the involvement of Canadian in peacekeeping and humanitarian missions has created a positive Canadian identity abroad.
