I worked in the hotel for this although I was on the nightshift so I missed the big protest.  Dayshift workers said about one hundred protesters were there, and only one guy who was riding his bike naked got arrested.  Very much over-hyped.

$400 a month is ALOT of food a month. You can find a place ot rent here for about $600 to 650/month for a 650 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment.

Because living in nelles block sucked and I couldnt wait to get out.  First year salary is actually pretty good if you are not spending $400/month on rations.

The Navy has BMS as well, or at least we did at NRS Esquimalt.  Cookies, nuts and chocolate milk which dissapeared quite fast.

We were at farnham in the winter, this one OS had his gloves fall into the porta-potty.  He got into big trouble from the staff.  When he told us about it, one PTE suggested to do what he does and put them in the "sink". He was called Private Pissmits for the rest of the course.

I don't think passing the swim test was a requirement to pass BMQ, however, if you fail you get to do remedial swimming lessons with the others who failed while everyones else does Pool PT.
