Hey guys I was sworn in today and I was wondering if anyone else who has sworn in has noticed their platoon serial number? We can figure out who's going to be in a platoon together. Mine is R0050E.

I did see that and I thought it was strange, because I'd only specified Navy on my application. But I assumed you were using it as a colloquial synonym to "military" that a lot of people use. Obviously I'm kicking myself for not asking for clarification now.

I understand it's a purple trade, but it's a purple trade I have my heart set on doing while wearing black. I want to serve on a ship. Seems a bit silly to accept an army offer if I want to be on a ship. Just like people say don't accept an offer of a trade if you're heart is set on another...

So I went for my swearing in this morning and realized that on all of my paperwork it said I was joining the Army when I had applied for the Navy.  Everyone I had spoken to, from my phone call with the job offer to the Career Manager who made sure nothing about my situation had changed this...

Hmm well it doesn't sound like the end of the world if you didn't get a written offer. It'll just be one more paper to sign when you swear in I guess? And luckily the joining instructions are available here, so you can pack with more than two days notice. :)

You never got anything in writing? Right after the phone call with the verbal offer, they sent me an email with a written enrolment offer to print off, sign, and send back ASAP.

Oh okay then! I was starting to think I should get in contact just to verify, even though I KNOW they told me not to book my own travel. Im glad others here have the link to the joining instructions, so we're not waiting on that. Hopefully we're contacted soon!

What are the regulations regarding female pixie cuts? As long as there aren't strange undercuts or super long on the top, would they be fine, like a short bob that doesn't reach past the collar? Or would I have to adhere to the men's standards?

I received a letter in the mail telling me I was merit listed. It was the only progress with my file that wasn't accompanied by a phone call and/or email.

Just got the call!! I start BMQ Sep 15. Best late Friday news ever!!!

I was getting concerned about not getting a call yet so I emailed my file manager last night to just touch base. I got an auto reply saying he was away July 3-9. That explains a lot! Nervous feelings gone. :)
