CAF Banking and Financial health [merged]

I've had good experiences with Scotia though I know some have not. I left Royal because they screwed me over. With Scotia my RRSP has always made a good return for decent fees. And some of the credit cards give a good % of money back if you meet the income requirements to get it.

Do Army Reserve MP's get badged?

The effort to badge some Reserve MPs has been abandoned. Long story short it was time-consuming, costly, and there was a low rate of commitment to see the program through by a lot of the students. Add to the fact that badging Reserve MPs is not really necessary for a variety of reasons. The...

    MPs searching vehicles on base

The most pertinent difference between the ISDRs and the DCAARs is one relates to military pers and the other to non-military pers. Granted, there are limitations to arbitrary searches as well.

The Air Force blew up this tiny ‘pirate boat’ with a 2,000-pound smart bomb

"I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." Seemed an appropriate quote here...  ;D

Computer forensics work is only handled by Reg Force MPs. There are no availabilities for Reservists.

For any fans of WWI/II/Korea aviation there's a new game called War Thunder that's in open beta test right now available on Steam. It's free to download/play at the moment. Online play team vs team, wide variety of aircraft that is somewhat customizable, detailed damage, and multiple realism...

    Grade 11 choices

I took advantage of this plan years ago. The caveat is that your major must have something to do with your trade or otherwise benefit the CF. Ie. don't hope for them to pay 2k for a degree in sociology if you're a Sig Op. Also note that the 2k per year is a reimbursement. You still have to...

Just in case you were feeling significant today...

I'm a bit of an astronomy geek so this stuff in these two pictures fascinates me. Another humbling thought: If our sun was the size of a ping pong ball, the earth would be a dust sized spec 2 and a half meters away. Jupiter is 12 meters away. Pluto is 100. The Oort cloud extends several dozen...

Wasn't a typo or a slight to vanilla lovers, but more of a commentary on the large majority of protein powders that promise "great taste!" and deliver nothing of the sort.  :boke:  ;D (edit: Added barfy guy)

I prefer the chocolate. I found the vanilla kind of chalky tasting, but the Decadent Chocolate tasted more like an actual milk shake. To each his own, though. And even the vanilla tastes much better than most protein powders which most resemble dirty gravel wrapped in fail.

    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

There's no field portion so most of the 'military' kit is not required. Like Garb said you'll spend a lot of time in OPDs which are issued to you and include a black toque and coat for cold weather. That being said, bring warm CADPAT gear nontheless (including long johns, I recommend) as you...

"Toronto police officer charged in Sammy Yatim shooting"

The fact that you're supporting the violation of basic civil liberties (innocent until proven guilty and if found so then given a punishment fitting for the crime) in order to supposedly prevent the breakdown of the justice system is very disturbing. It doesn't matter if the armchair police...

Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT) [MERGED]

As for the OP's original statement about whether the recruitors want people to get in or not based on the difficulty and that they should make the math portion easier, it's a bit silly. To lower the standard to avoid any failures negates the purpose of having a standard at all. Especially...

You're thinking of the Kaizen brand. Costco has been raising the price on it steadily in the last year and I think it's up to 48.99 now for a 5lb jug. It's still (IMHO) the best value for whey protein in most local markets by its very low carb, sugar, and fat. No chemicals or bells and whistles...

Interested in enlisting as an officer, many questions

Depends on the demand at the time. I know a LogO who was hired with a Criminology Degree and no admin background.
