    Updated Army Service Dress project

They should take it to RCafe... and also realize they're complaining about a uniform they don't want to wear because it means they are typically on parades they moan about having to do...

Soldier Operational Clothing and Equipment Modernization

Depends if we want to be a military or bunch of airsofters/mercenaries. A professional military has a common uniform, period. Accepting mixed clothing 10+ years later when we've made a fundamental change to something like camouflage pattern is accepting garbage funding from GoC and poor project...

Soldier Operational Clothing and Equipment Modernization

If you look the project up on ACIMS, they wanted to replace everything at the same time. Lots of "lack of stable funding" paragraphs mean we're going to go through the OD to CADPAT transition again. Saw a young Cpl in an OD parka a few days ago so 24 years later we still haven't finished...

Will 2021 see a new pistol buy?

The 0s that are being proposed to drop off my units budget makes me think that if you're correct then some units are getting hit harder than others.

Will 2021 see a new pistol buy?

Don't worry, we're taking a 30% haircut in Vote 1 money so we'll have just enough cash left to pay for 1 week of lunch hayboxes at the range for each unit for the year.

Will 2021 see a new pistol buy?

The difference is round count. Nobody will be proficient and competent with a pistol firing 75 rounds a year with 50 of those being the qualification test. You need a thousand rounds or more per person with a good instructor to student ratio to build confidence, competency and muscle memory...

    In recruitment process living abroad

Sounds like you're a Permanent Resident of that country, not Canada. For security clearances, the longer you have spent living outside Canada, the longer it takes to validate the info you provided. You're setting yourself up for a very long wait.

Should I take summer school during BMQ so I can apply to RMC in September?

You won't be doing anything other than BMQ during BMQ. If you want to go to RMC, prioritize your education upgrades.

You need to have a long talk with your doctor and the recruiting medical staff whether you are medically admissible for the CAF. I'm going to lock this before the train wreck starts.

    Base closures?

Tent city in the winter isn't going to work that well. I'm all for finding funding solutions but this isn't a "fix it tomorrow" problem. Base closures need to be deliberate and coupled with planned infrastructure spending at the new home. Since we're not going to get new infra money any base...

    Base closures?

I've gone there for a 2 week exercise from Kingston. Very much worth the road move for a relatively quiet training area during the week.

    Base closures?

A decade ago the CAF did an infrastructure survey and it had the 2nd oldest average building age in the CAF behind Kingston which still operates 18th century forts.

    Base closures?

Petawawa also used condemned buildings to run paradym or whatever it was called. There's no accommodations or empty training buildings to hold DP1 and they're actively trying to take down old buildings to save money. You're not moving anything to Petawawa without a billion dollar infrastructure...
