What do folks think about the 120mm mortar LAV concept combined with 81mm light vehicles
Vs
Just more 81mm vehicles.
To me 120mm mortar seems like the better option. Supports the CMBG better while the 81s get attached to any light brigades. (Or mix and match)
Trying to learn something here...
Wasn't sure where this should go so I put it here. Please copy/paste where you think it should be.

I think there is room for an air superiority fighter in the CAF if we are going to 2%. The UK, Japanese one is being designed at a rapid rate. By the time we've digested the F-35 we could probably get some of those.
So there is a bit of a panic, and people are throwing ideas out there to see what sticks. Churchill if it was economically viable would already be a working port. But its not. So big infrastructure needs to be both easy wins and harder goals. My largest concern is the hollowing out of our...
It will, but the GOP has no plan for when his threats and scare tactics are gone. There is going to be a huge internal fight when that happens as no one can repeat what he's done.
All those scared Congressmen and Senators will be able to speak their mind with no organized threat to them. His...
That's funny because (classic) liberalism is actually modern conservatism. So yes, words change their definitions along with people. Especially political philosophies as they evolve over time.
It's all part of the plan to over time pull more manufacturing to the US. You don't need tariffs just the threat of them to create uncertainty. And business flow to where there is no uncertainty. So why put in tariffs when the threat of them do the same thing.
Trump called GM Ford and...
I think it's the end of a mostly bipartisan US foreign policy. It will more be on the whim of the current government. US foreign policy was essentially the same between Democrat's and Republicans for the last 70 years. The main themes/goals remained the how's and why's changed.
Now though...
I agree that's what conservatism used to be. From Eisenhower to Regan/Mulroney up to about 2016.
MAGA has upended that cart and made it look like something else. It's isolationism over global trade and the US doesn't want to pay for the global trade protection anymore. That's the actual...
Because it's a play for votes that doesn't change anything. If he was really conservative he'd get rid the LCBO entirely and full free market alcohol sales. It's still puritanical/tyrannical because they are the only wholesaler in Ontario.
How about I dunno, at least pretend like your trying...
That's liberal philosophy not conservative. Conservatives are about user fees. You pay for what you use. Liberals are about taking taxes to remove fees
Actually it's really populist bullshit. Like beer in corner stores. Ontario needs real structural changes not this fiddling around the...
Because lots of good we use, particularly finished goods are made in the US. Roofing nails for instance. If steel prices go up because of less steel supply from Canada then roofing nails go up. Lumber is another example where if you lose the cost advantage of mass production of lumber from BC...
Its a beautiful hotel, with a large amount of military paraphenielia in the hallways (particularly on the second floor), in honour of the previous occupants. They really did a good job with it.
He needs to act like a Conservative then. Where's my tax cuts Dougie?
Also he needs to dodge the RCMP investigations into his greenbelt/highghway development buyoff situation. That's one of the reasons for the early election call. There is a scandal brewing.
Ok I'll buy that explaination to a point. Not being in the room I'm not sure Lutnick tried to bully Ford. But given both their communication styles it was probably a pretty blunt conversation.
Lutnick is a smart guy. He knows tariffs are bad. His mentor is Lighthzinger who was Trumps...
I've been reading quite a bit of Quebec news lately (oddly enough). Quebec is having a "Oh yah, this is why we created this country" moment right now. History doesn't repeat but its rhyming for Lower Canada at present.
Haha no, I don't believe that for a hot minute. This is the same guy who...
