    2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

The CPC has a "hidden agenda" don't ya know? Not like the pure as wool/driven snow LPC.. The CPC will do unspeakable horrors if elected, but the LPC will protect the CBC, abortions, and French. Don't be a racist, vote LPC.

Indirect Fires Modernization Project - C3/M777 Replacement

I'm not an expert, but I know our WEng Techs do planned and corrective maintenance on all of the weapons systems. Realistically, all rockets/missiles require people to pop by and make sure they are physically fit for firing.

CAN Enhanced (Permanent?) Fwd Presence in Latvia

Sounds like a case of driving tactical and finding a deep water hole to me. I'm not sure if M88A2 has the NV periscope or an IR/NV camera, but I know in the TLAV with the NV periscope you couldn't see much...

A few do, most are only accessible by helicopter. I know this because I planned inspection trips to the sites, and didn't just read a few lines on a website. Being able to survive in a space is not the same as being "housed" there. The "housing" apart from the few LSS is cots in the generator...

    Trump administration 2024-2028

You think Iran isn't already planning to do those things? Hamas is Iran's tool, and they carried out the worst terrorist attack since 9/11 a couple of years ago.

Iran needs to eat some some shit... Who delivers the shit sandwich is up for debate, but they need to be put back in their place. Iran is in no way able to nuke us, or Europe. At best they can nuke Iraq, or Afghanistan.... Not great internationally, but even worse for Iran. They are Russia...

Canadian modular assault rifle project, a C7 replacement?

I am not in any way an expert in any of these systems, but based on my experience in systems/fields I am an expert in, I think iterative is the best approach. Too many times companies promise the world, and deliver a sub-par system that in theory is great.

That's an interesting way to mischaracterize the point... Dude went from "potential high level banker" to Prime Minister of a G7 nation in a very short timeframe... We get to ask questions and doubt his ethics. Whether that upsets you and your industry friends, or not.

The premier of a province the LPC need to win to do well... Remember, the Quebecers who voted for the CAQ are the voters the LPC need to win.

Having seen reporters interact with PP, I suspect it's the smart call. The people who think he's making a mistake are the people who wouldn't have voted for him, and the "swing" voters likely don't really care. To be honest, I don't think any party should be allowing reporters close access to...

If they're still around... CTV, CBC, Global, etc., at one time had newsrooms with reporters, to report on local stories outside of the few major regional centres. Most have shuttered the smaller newsrooms, and got rid of staff, all the while collecting money from the government. At least to...

If only the press receiving millions in federal funding had local reporters to go to these sorts of things... Oh well, guess we'd better vote LPC because they let friendly reporters hang out with them.

No they don't... Some of the sites have accommodations for people who rotate in and out of the site. Most sites have a helo landing pad, and have emergency quarters and food/water supplies in the event a crew gets stranded due to weather. Thales lost the maintenance contract to Nasittuq a few...

The problem with that is the same problem as we have in remote/rural southern Canada.... The people with the skills/apptitude for that sort of work tend to want to move to the big cities for more opportunities, and better QoL.

Fair points I agree with 100%. I wasn't clear enough in my initial post. I don't want to see them spread around the country for coastal defence, but if we are looking at the potential need/desire for such a system, the NSM is a reasonable offering that is in use elsewhere, while also being a...
