On an IBTS weekend I was told I'm qualified as marksman and I am qualified up to DP2A in Infantry. I was never given any sort of the qualifications badge, I didn't even know that the command badge existed until a few days ago

Rules for additional gear for overseas?

I've used the knee pads for a couple months now and they are lighter than I thought they were and they are also stiffer than the conventional knee pads and give me nice padding when I'm kneeling on rocks and pebbles. Besides the cost, I think it is so far a nice investment. It also actually...

Couldn't really find a spot to fit this topic but I think this is the closest

For use for others to use as reference: My transfer was started and I was attached to the new unit for 3 months through my BOR from my old unit in Meaford (she was there at the time) and from the point when I cleared out of the unit it took 3 months to finish the transfer. Also the education...

FastEddy that thought just haunts me; if I see that happenning, I'll probably shoot myself in the foot to distract myself with the physical pain

    C4 Gas Mask Straw Problem

I had the same problem with the gas masks too except I had to ignore how irritated I was with the condition of the gas mask and reached out to the straw with my tongue and guided it to my teeth and pulled it with my jaw to use it. I also don't see the problem with using your hand to push the...

Best source for training and tasking opportunities?

I've changed my mind about the co-op offer from my University. I spent some time with people who were in it last year and it definately sounds like something I want to miss espicially when it is a very low pay/volunteer; I pretty much get what I need to survive while I'm in Geneva. I am...

    BMQ inspection requirements

Well clearly the autobiography guide is a Guide, a tool that you can use to write the autobigraphy not an instruction to follow. Second, the supplies such as foot powder and blue pen are avalible at the course, that is true. It is also true that sometimes you write a memo for adrep and you...

    BMQ inspection requirements

I'll tell you 3 things you DON'T want to do: 1. Mention that you were cadet, even in your autobiography. 2. Temper with anything after the light out. 3. Stick out and be 'that guy' that everyone hates in your platoon. I'll also tell you 3 things you DO want to do: 1. Prepare to write LEGIBLE...

    The Great BOOT Debate

Just my personal opinion for Captain's bars for lacing is great with the GP boots. I can simply loosen the laces to take the boots off and tighten the laces to put them back on. Nothing going through anything and all you need to do is just pull two loose laces if I can't see anything. The best...

believe me 12 BFT isn't anything to brag about, it is just a fact that I did them I got screwed over on paperwork, and somehow my FTP had to look like me to the Plt.Commander who signed my ftp's report and not mine. Besides, what BS and war story am I telling from doing training cause i got...

    The Great BOOT Debate

What I mean by Captain's bars is instead of tying the laces when you get to the top of the boots, cross the laces to opposite eyelets and put two strands of laces on the last  two eyelets. This way you get 2 bars over top of your entire lacing, and some people refer it as "captain's bars"

The BSing about Military service pisses me off, espicially from those first year ROTP students who hasn't even been to BMOQ, not that I've done anything better but at least I like to keep my mouth shut when I'm not talking to my friends in the unit. I instinctively told a 19 year old guy yo...

    The Great BOOT Debate

I probably grew into the GP boots because I didn't take em off while in the trench during SQ. I still can't feel the left side of the right foot, and days ago peeled off about 3squarecm of dead skin off my feet. Besides my feet take a lot of abuse because 6km run is part of my each day. The...
