    weight fluctuations (loss) during/after basic

Almost everyone on my course lost weight. I lost about 12lbs. I only went in at about 165 so it was a fair bit for me to lose. You only eat 3 times a day, no food in the barracks (at least dont get caught, you'll learn the ropes after a few weeks there) So I was use to eating pretty much every 2...

    After BMQ - PAT [Merged]

All depends, I got lucky and my BMQ ended on the friday of a long weekend. So I got the weekend off as 'travel time'. Don't count on much time off. How ever I doubt you will be staying on PAT @ st-jean. trades like comm rsrch, sig ops, v-techs, med-techs, mps, firefighters all get sent to CFB...

    graduation day

As posted above, you will only be called up front if you win an award. If this applies to you don't worry you will practice it alot. Make sure your weapons drill is good, you do alot of present arms, shoulder arms and order arms on parade. As for foot drill, I hope you know some french  ;D...

    Wainwright SQ Dates?

I just finished my basic may19th. Alot of the infantry guys heading out west are 3rd PPCLI as well, they had to report as soon as they arrived. Not sure how it works there but im sure you can request a CF 100 and possibly get the weekend off, don't hold your breath for getting an entire week off.

Military Swim Test - When, Where, and How- Merged

Passing the swim test is not mandatory, we had about 5 people in my platoon that could not swim. They give you a retest for it around week 4, even if you still don't pass it is not a P.O failure. Combats do get a little heavy, I still found it fairly easy though. If you are not a good swimmer...

When is the next BMQ after APril 10th

Havnt seen a new BMQ course start in St-Jean for over a month now, Lowest platoon in there will be starting week 6 this Tuesday. I seen a new group of Ocdt's just start last week. I heard the stoppage was to clear some room for the new 13 week courses, but I cant confirm this myself.

St Jean Photo's (dial up warning)

Yes, locker security is very important. It happens alot up till about week 4 and then it cuts down. Stupid way to get a councelling, and when you know you only have 7 councellings  before your sent to PRB locking up your kit is a pretty easy thing to remember. Plus once your issued your weapon...

St Jean Photo's (dial up warning)

Ya I noticed there have been no new courses starting. I heard something about one starting in May sometime. I think they might be doing the new 13 week BMQ course but im not 100% sure on that. If any one has any questions about BMQ or what to bring/what not to bring or whatever ask a way and...

St Jean Photo's (dial up warning)

Just home for easter break and I got some pictures developed from Basic. I just finished week 6. That was from our last inspection. We are one of the first platoons to get issued with the C7A2. Heres what happens when you forget to lock your kit up... Havnt had this happen to me yet but...

    2.4 KM run?

As I mentioned if you are with the PT staff and doing laps around the track, its at your own pace. How ever you do morning runs with your instructors who decided the pace and the distance. (usually decided by how much time you have and weather you have inspections or not)

Extra Kit on BMQ ? Cameras, Cell Phones, Laptops..

Portable dvd players are pretty common, I just finished week 6 at St Jean (at home for easter weekend right now) It gives you something to do while you spit shine your boots for hours (and I mean hours) on end. Mp3 players with speakers are good too.

    2.4 KM run?

Don't just prepare for the 2.4k I just finished week 6 of BMQ in st jean and were already doing 6k runs with the PT staff, not to mention a 3k run at 5:10am  ;D The morning runs you have to keep up with your staff and you double back to pick up the stragglers... If your slow start in the front...

    Hi everyone, here's my situation

Good to see you are preparing youself. As for the CFAT study in the areas you feel weak, I know I studied a bunch of math because that was never my strongest subject. Get yourself into a good workout routine. You have to do a minimum of 19 pushups, but aim for 50! You always want to be above...
