    Moosehead Headed to AFG

I think the important question here is: What about Keith's? :)

    RMC Class of 2010

Just curious, if an ex-cpl or ex-sgt came on here and said that a lot of this stuff is BS, would anyone listen to them? Because they're in our classes, and they say pretty much the same things.

    RMC Class of 2010

Set standards and let us meet them (ie/ RMC PT Test, which already exists) on our own time. Let us actually manage our own schedule.

    RMC Class of 2010

4th year ROTP and a lot of the UT OCdts are saying the same things.

    RMC Class of 2010

And then here's the old attitude. "You're all just wining. suck it up". So pointing out deficiencies in the system is whining and I should just suck it up? Sure, I'll remember that for later on in my career  ::) Alright, fine, let's do some 'soldier first' stuff during the school year at RMC...

    RMC Class of 2010

Ok, if that's the situation, then why aren't I doing CAP? RMC is definitely not capable of training me to deal with 'shyte hitting the fan'. And I still fail to see how weekly ruck marches help to deal with shyte hitting the fan, other than giving me the ability to walk really well. "Come on...

    Our Opinion

He's talking to people who have a lot more experience in these matters.. like the polaris institute. (Yes, I am being sarcastic)

    RMC Class of 2010

There's actually another thread on this: http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/50360.0.html just a heads up...

    RMC Class of 2010

Fine, I can accept that as a future CELE officer, I'll be responsible for supporting troops in the field. I would actually like to work at CFS Leitrim, and maybe deployment(s) to Camp Mirage, but that's about as close as I'll get to the front lines. How does doing army stuff here at the college...

    CPAC talk politics show

I didn't get to see the debate in question, but I did have the opportunity to go and watch a debate at Queens between LCol (ret) Doug Bland, a professor at Queens arguing for CF involvement in Afghanistan, and Steven Staples of the Polaris Institute. In my opinion, Mr. Bland won hands down...

    Future Applicant

I think you've touched on and know what the main points are. Athletics, bilingualism, military (leadership experience) and Academic. I know it's cliche, but become the 'best you can be' in all of these areas. It's great that you're very interested in RMC, but remember to have a back up plan/plan...

    LEAVE during MARS Training ?

I don't know all the details of MARS III, but sending up a memo requesting leave for that weekend (I'm assuming it's a weekend) wouldn't hurt.

Engineering at RMC with weak Math

Engineering at RMC is heavy in math, and for some unknown reasons we seem to have a lot of math profs who might be geniuses, but we sure can't tell. That being said, however, it's always easy to get help. ROTP probably a bit more so than UT, I would imagine, since we all live together. We had a...

TARNISHED BRASS, CRIME AND CORRUPTION IN THE CANADIAN MILITARY (Book Review)

I know this topic is old, but I figured it contained a lot of good information, and I'd like to keep things together. I just picked up Tarnished Brass from the RMC library, looking to do an essay on Somalia for politics. Now obviously this is a touchy subject, especially around here as I know...

    Interest in an Officer/BOTC/RMC FAQ?

What h3tacco said, basically. If you do a year of civi U and get some transfer credits, you'll still be a first year here, with all the fun that comes with, but you may (depending on transfer credits) take mostly second year courses. I'm not sure if it would be possible to finish your degree in...

    Civilians at RMC

civvies make up a large portion of many of the varsity teams, they live in town, and attend classes. I'm not sure if they actually go for degrees, or if they're just taking enough courses to be considered students. Anyhow, as far as I know, they don't get *the* "RMC Degree", they just get a...

    Interest in an Officer/BOTC/RMC FAQ?

Wow.. only took about 6 months to get a reply to this, and a month for me to notice  ::) I'll put everything together in a word doc and then copy/paste when "complete" (I imagine it will always be changing, so just when I have a few questions). First, to answer the above question, yes, you get...

    RMC Interviews

*raises hand* :) Know your occupations, as has already been stated. Also, don't make questions they ask you more complicated than they have to be. It won't be an hour and a half (or three hours, however long it is now) grilling simply on occupations. From what I remember of my interview, a...

Instructors giving students pushups - yay or nay?

Oh, and if instructors really want to correct physical fitness deficiences, get the subordinate doing CrossFit (http://www.crossfit.com) ;)
