Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

If he had been involved in the sexual assault itself, he may also have backed himself into a corner. We need more information.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

No, infanteers almost never swap regiments. Once a Patrica, always a Patricia, for example. It's not like us in the Navy, TAR, where our sense of belonging to a ship and it's culture lasts about as long as our posting there.

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

Holy hell guys. My eyes are bleeding from following you guys argue over unlimited liability, Canadian military history, and poetntial racially insensitive wording (it's not though). Get back on track people. My actual addition to the conversation: I once chastised @Tomahawk for claiming he...

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

I don't think it's the content of the letter that is the issue. The victims husband took notes during a phone call with Dawes. In that phone call, apparently, Dawes admitted that he was submitting his letter with the express purpose of trying to get the member's sentence reduced. That's the issue.

And it's waterproof! The parka is neither wind nor rain proof, which means whoever designed it had never spent any time in Halifax during the winter.

They aren't exactly "new" as they came in around 2013/2014. But, they are both functional AND they look good. Plus even though they aren't supposed to be "winter weather gear" I don't know a single person who prefers the navy Gortex parka over the "black rain coat" in the winter. Plus! You can...

Next Iteration of the Naval Warfare Officer Rebranding

Next to the new rain coats, the Orcas have to have been the biggest "win" in naval procurement in the last two decades. They get so much bang for their buck. When I was working for NAVRES, we kept telling Comd NAVRES that we needed to put two ORCAs on the great lakes and that they would get used...

    ROTP at 23

Why are you looking to get a second degree at RMC? What is your underlying motivation?: a. You want a career in the forces; b. You want to get extra education (a free one to boot); c. both. If it's a, then it really depends on what trade you chose. If you want to join as a trade that doesn't...

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

This. Just yesterday I was listening to the radio, and the morning show shared a story about a survey done by some third party. The survey was about "sex related" emojis. Right now people uses peaches and eggplants and water droplets to provide sexual innuendo, and it was found through the...

2021 federal budget and the CAF

Which department did you have the pleasure of working with? I do think that sometimes we forget how well trained, organized, and competent we are. When the CAF works with OGDs, for example, one of the OGDs may be the lead agency with overall command, but they differ to us to organize, plan, and...

2021 federal budget and the CAF

I'm sad none of you saw through my sarcasm. I don't believe a single word I said in my last two posts. Eaglelord17 expressed these opinion (that it's our choice to remain in a tough situation) and I argued against it, but no one agreed with me or came to my defence.

No, it's your choice to stay in the forces or not. If you can't afford a house where the CAF plans on moving you, you have the option to release and move some place less expensive.

They aren't being forced to live in a postage stamp in a seedy area. It's their choice to be in and stay in the forces. If they don't want what's available, they can release and go live some place that isn't expensive.

2021 federal budget and the CAF

So, because it's my decision to stay in the CAF, with all the pros this job entails, I am not allowed to complain about any of the cons, such as the housing prices of where I get moved to? Or the money I could lose on a house sale when forced to move at a bad time? Each and every one of us is...

And, to not be accused of the same, I'll actually add something to the conversation: I think the CSC project, in mostly its entirety, is safe in the long term, post-covid reality. If big spending is what the LPC thinks is what the doctor ordered, what's better that $70B spent in Canada...

I'm going to agree with you here and say that Brad is trolling, not you. To answer your question, I'll go against the majority here and say that I believe the majority of main stream media, no matter how biased, present factually correct news. The real problem lies in how they spin the overall...

Sexual Misconduct Allegations in The CAF

I think one of the biggest problems with the navy is purely attrition. It's hard to pick the best candidate when there is such a rediculously small pool to choose from. Seriously go do an advanced search on the GAL and just put "Capt(N)" and/or "Cmdre" in the rank box. You'll find that across...
