Is bilingualism a ‘myth’? Poll shows divide between Quebec, other provinces

IIRC, this means more Canadians support bilingualism more than the monarchy.

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

I was hoping you wouldn't take it too badly, hence my "cheeky, I know" :P I know you're not actually pro-terrorism. I stand by that characterization of most pro-"Palestine" advocates, however, because most will gleefully chant for the destruction of Israel. I think there is very little truth to...

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

So, propagandists aside, there's only one pro-Hamas (cheeky I know) on this forum. Yet 50-75% of the population view Israel negatively. What explains this? Our shared understanding of military operations? Affinity for Israel, somehow? Intransigeance with the type of people who'd kill our...

    The War in Ukraine

In reality, this is not so different from soldiers in trenches a hundred years ago, who might be disarmed and injured by the shelling yet they can't surrender because there is no way to surrender to artillery. It's just that in this day and age, the shells have eyes. It is difficult to watch...

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

Consider his entire comment. The second part is clearly more important. We have not heard about it, compared to how much we would've in the other scenario. Consider how much we heard about a catholic just giving an inspiring speech to the graduating class of a catholic school.

It's anyone's guess whether it unites with China before or after Taiwan.

2022 CPC Leadership Discussion: Et tu Redeux

There's a fine line between words and actions. In fact, there isn't much of a line. The highlighted part is action, that consists entirely of words. It shows that you do in fact care, and that your previous phrase wasn't just "words". Likewise, almost everything a politician does is words...

    The War in Ukraine

Nota: Ukraine gets about 100k able-bodied males turning 18 every year. Russia, roughly three times as many. Which in turn roughly approximates the number of yearly Russian casualties according to Ukraine.

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

As a general rule, leaders are of and from the people and do represent the people, no matter the system of government. This is so true, in fact, that as soon as the Palestinians got the right to vote, they elected Hamas, a theocratic, tyrannical organization of terrorists hell-bent on genocide...

    A Deeply Fractured US

Anachronistic, I'm afraid. NATO expenditure went steadily up during the Trump presidency, then slightly down/stagnating during the Biden presidency until the invasion of Ukraine. That the latter occurred on Biden's watch is not exactly an indictment of Trump.

    A Deeply Fractured US

You can't be real. Don't we have 15 or so different threads on here about failing procurement, the military falling apart, the world getting more dangerous? If NATO free-riders (Canada included) need a kick in the rear then whoever performs it is entirely justified...

Is there evidence for any of those claims? Checked one at random and it's false according to Forbes. I'm also pretty sure China - the principal rival - doesn't want Trump back in the WH...

    A Deeply Fractured US

C'mon now... Every single day And I'm no Biden hater, I thought he was good in the past and much better than most of his party in 2020. But this is ridiculous. He should've handed the reins a year ago, this is elder abuse.

Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

Or just relying on the narrow legalistic definition of treason, rather than the morally clear idea of an oath-breaker serving foreign interests.
