That's Odd that you are no longer considered a resident of wherever you came from. I know that most students who go away for school are not usually subjected to all the requirements of changing addresses as it is considered a "Temporary" move, much the same as a contract job with the CF PRes...
I feel like an RPAL and several weeks of training should be required and a good start. In addition, the same Psych testing that we require of Law enforcement might not be a bad idea as well.
There may still be incidents, but I feel like that would be an effective risk mitigation, and...

Well that may be true, I have far greater concern that ALL armed LE agencies are not permitted to carry off duty, and even more concerned that there are so many wanting to prevent other LE agencies from carrying a duty firearm.

We cant even get Law Enforcement officers to be allowed to carry off duty... Heck, we cant even get all sworn law enforcement officers allowed to carry ON DUTY!

IIRC it wasn't just a screwdriver, but one which had been sharpened for the express purpose of being able to go through soft body armor.... (Unless this was another shooting with similar circumstances....)

Whenever I do/did the BFT as of late, I would wear long compression shorts. Cut down on the thigh chafe and generally made things more comfortable for me... If they dont see it, you're usually alright. But the T-shirt thing (especially on a recruit course) is spot on.
I would not want to see any large scale cutback of fire services... Lord knows I appreciate the concept of "Paid for what we may have to do"

Google the police PIN test if you're interested in what LE looks for in fitness training.... As stated, HRPS TRU is not going to post much stuff wrt trg in the public eye.
If you want to get to that level look at the police PREP test... Now imagine you have to complete that test in...
