Close Area Suppression Weapon (was Company Area Suppression Weapon)

Seems so.  I just hope that it lives up to its claims and that the ammo guys get all the nature's through in time for delivery.

Close Combat Vehicle: Canada to buy another AFV (& keeping LAV III & TLAV)

looks like I messed up the quote thing.  hmmmm Well, this is not the only place that I have heard this pop-up.  It seems that we might be a little more interested than we first thought.  The big question is how intersted?  There are lots of variants and lots of possible systems (like the SEP)...

The Inf School will be participating in the trials of the selected variant of the CASW in the summer of 08, to determine the method and training to get this into units from IOC to FOC.  And incidentally the Inf sch will be the first unit to get them so that they may be injected into the...

Should Canada adopt the LAV III (AKA: Stryker) as its primary armoured vehicle family?

Couple of points here; 1.  I heard back in October, that the Marines were being fielded 2 Company's worth of MGS directly to Iraq for trials and eval.  Probably not the best scenario to find out if something is broke, but they believe the numbers and have worked all the development kinks out...

"243 PYs" - This number is a little thin.  I am currently working on the issues from a different angle.  I know the costs and have had the back-breif the Mor issues (giving a couple of tubes per Coy).  Cost in 3 guys per tube is a direct fire weapon only, LOS I can see'em and hit them.  Anything...

This adds good perspective and most of these comments will get back to the source, guaranteed!!  I even found a real live aussie who laughed and said somthing like" get yourself another whanker-bomb" from the US.

    CF Issued Junk

You guys are just going to love the new barrack box.  Wheels, retractable pull-hanfle, shiney metal corners.  It is some sweet piece of kit, hold everything, including a rifle in the lid.  Has nice doc holder that is accessed through the inside, so no more painting and sanding......whoooo. Oh...

    CF Short Service Medals

I think that the main focus should not be on the medal, but on the criteria for who gets it.  There should be no serving member receiving this.  Those four years go towards the CD.  This should be a retiremnt medal for those who do not stay in long-enough.  It would improve the Depart with...

    CF Short Service Medals

If you are already racking-up time towards the CD, you can't rack-up time for the Short service medal.  Rewarding you twice for the same time served, an all that.... So should this only be awarded to retired/released members?  The wording of "past and present" members implies otherwise.

Close Area Suppression Weapon (was Company Area Suppression Weapon)

I am all about effects, man.  The biggest tool for the job is usually the best tool.  So if I want to kill/incapcitate dsmtd inf at 2000m or destroy an IED, the most precise wpn is the one that I want.  Besides, the CASW is not replacing the .50cal, the 242 OR the 60mm.  But like most things...
