    Ukraine - Superthread

Look like someone made tets with cement board and then painted the outside in concrete .,. Even CMTC’s training tets are better built (and actually solid).

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

If you want to talk Reg F structures, I'll answer in a thread that's not about PRes structures: Informing the Army’s Future Structure

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

The CA has no viable CS nor CSS for its light forces, and it never will so long as they live in different houses. Consolidating them allows for establishment of efficient CS and CSS structures. The CA lacks CSS across the board and it is leaning towards plans for a mitosis of the existing...

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

That’s more a discussion for the other thread, but your observation is incorrect. We already have a fourth brigade (numbered 6) and it already has engineer and artillery regiments. The infantry an armoured units also already exist.

    2023 UCP Alberta election

Election results tend to have trends that differentiate Edmonton from Calgary, urban from rural, and north from south. But these trends are differences of a handful of percentages (same as what differentiates Alberta from other parts of Canada). The partisans want the map painted in party...

    Ukraine - Superthread

Infantry are not the only orgs to have been too focused on making Canada an army of sub-unit level competence. Everyone thinks small when it comes to logistics, and we have been too ready to sacrifice logistics to protect shiny toys. As long as we can support a combat team from a static start...

The BTG is no longer a thing. I guess Russia will be going back to regiments in a division structure.

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

In addition to REASSURANCE, the Army is still in Iraq and the UNIFIER mission is back to life with a few deployments training Ukrainians in different locations. We should be able to do more … but the current government’s direction (published in SSE) only directs CAF to deploy quantities of...

Are promotions required in the Calendar year or in the Fiscal Year?

Well, given the extant policy is still in CFAOs, that work has been moving at quite a glacial pace.

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

I am sure they will eventually announce that they each will lead their own battle groups. It’s not a brigade if it only holds one multinational battle group.
